Janene Liston has transferred her past skills into her current work advocating businessowners price based on value and not time. Her work is a great illustration of adult learning: using past life experiences to expand current learning.
Get Paid to Sell My Experience
Chatting with Janene revealed how I'm using my experiences and education as guides to offering my services to successful businesses.
Just think of all those years you’ve spent getting great at what you do or your product does. The schooling, the hours of learning, experimenting, getting it wrong, getting it right and making it “easy” for others. Doesn’t that count for something?
Simply because it’s easy for you, doesn’t mean it’s easy for everyone else. If they were to take the same path as you to know what you know and do what you do, then they too would have to invest all that time, energy and resources to get the results. Another great thread in my conversation with Dr. Carrie O. Graham was centered on understanding how your past experience, even if not related to what you're doing now contributes to your current success. Dr. Graham is so right in her point that you should disregard your past experience, skills and know how. They add value - first and foremost you have to understand the value they bring.
I’ve gotten several people sharing with me that the topic of the episode really resonated with them. Great job.
